Secor

Secor is a natural symphony of contrasts featuring tall trees, rolling sands, wet lowlands, meadows and prairies.

A mini Oak Openings with virtues all its own.

Many distinguishing characteristics of this charming park include its location in the Oak Openings Region, northwest Ohio's largest concentration of native dogwood and a restored tallgrass prairie.

The park opened in 1953, made possible from the revenue from a parking lot bequeathed by Arthur J Secor. The land had once belonged to the Jacob Wolfinger Farm, and a family cemetery is still maintained onsite. It is the only cemetery in existence in Richfield township.

The amenities include large picnic areas, playing fields, indoor meeting rooms and picnic shelters, and wildlife feedings stations with indoor viewing areas, called Windows on Wildlife.

Windows on Wildlife

Secor Metropark has one of six professionally maintained feeding stations attracting a variety of animals.
